Welcome to SAFE TrioBank!

The SAFE TrioBank is a virtual database/registry of samples for non-invasive prenatal diagnosis (NIPD) and a durable delivery of the SAFE Network of Excellence funded by the European Commission.

The goals of this registry are:

• to provide an easy overview of available material submitted by SAFE partners and other scientists that is stored in different laboratories in Europe and elsewhere (maternal, paternal, fetal as well as cell free fetal DNA or RNA from maternal plasma) for the investigation of NIPD of monogenic and chromosomal disorders
• to provide an easy access and a safe database for registered users
• to allow full control of registered samples of own patients as the samples themselves are kept in contributing laboratories under their own control, thus respecting patient privacy
• to promote collaborative demonstration projects between not only SAFE partners but also with other investigators and scientists worldwide
• to speed up implementation of NIDP through collaborative works in Europe and elsewhere
• to be a lasting delivery of the SAFE project

The SAFE TrioBank is now operating since 1 February 2007.
